THE CORE TEAMS WILL WORK TO SUPPORT THE CS+MENTAL HEALTH PROJECTS AND RAISE AWARENESS THROUGH EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY FOR EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES FOR MENTAL HEALTH.

As a member of the CS + MH Core, you will be expected to attend weekly meetings for your team and a mandatory Core retreat. The time commitment for the Core is similar to being a member of another student group. As a member of the CS + MH core, you will be working primarily on one of the following teams: Education, Outreach, Research, or Business.

EDUCATION TEAM

  • Organize speakers throughout the year

  • Organize events for CS + Mental Health group members

OUTREACH TEAM

  • Manage public communications

  • Manage recruitment

  • Organize project showcase 

  • Manage collaborations with other groups on campus

RESEARCH TEAM

  • Find and develop potential projects with labs/industry

  • Develop descriptions of projects with needs, resources 

  • Work with outreach to match candidates to projects 

  • Work with professor advisor panel

BUSINESS TEAM

  • Apply for student group status/apply for ASSU funding

  • Manage grants

  • Manage industry funding

TECHNICAL TEAM

The Technical Team is a specialized team that is part of the CS + Mental Health Core that is looking for students with significant CS experience and interested in mental health but not necessarily able to commit to a project. 

  • The technical team will work with CS + MH labs to develop projects for CS + MH teams. They will help psychiatry researchers develop projects that are technically achievable with desired timescales and resources. 

  • They will characterize technical needs of projects and recruit students appropriate with those technical skills for the projects. 

  • The technical team will help project teams plan out and set up their projects. They will provide expertise and advice in terms of what frameworks/APIs to use. They will help the team come up with a reasonable plan with key time points to accomplish their project.
